Definition of "Kushih"

Kushih Hsien is one of the populous districts of Southeast Honan. It borders on Anhwei province and extends over two hundred li, (70 miles) south to the Hupeh border. […] At present the district of Kushih has eight organized congregations and two preaching places.

I was interested to hear, when irrigation was being discussed, that the Meishan reservoir I visited in 1959 on the Anhwei side of Tapieh Mountains is now irrigating 400,000 mu of land in Kushih county in the Hsinyang prefecture, which has itself built 200 dams in the last few years.
