Few people know about Du Yuesheng’s monument, situated in the picturesque village of Xizhi, not far from Taipei. The huge arch of grey stone is quite imposing. Its four-character inscription praises the dead man’s “loyalty” and “personal integrity,” and even proudly lists the names of his children!
